The shortfall in local taxes and other sources of income for Transportation Agencies adversely impact workers who are represented by the Teamsters and other Unions. Many of our members face unemployment and many Americans who depend on public transportation will be seriously affected. Fortunately, the Schumer-Specter Senate Amendment 185 would include money from the Economic Stimulus legislation to support transit operations.
