Tell Your Senators to Support the Express Carrier Employee Protection Legislation
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Bill, along with the Express Carrier Employee Protection provision, passed in the U.S. House in May. In the Senate, the FAA Bill has been passed by the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee but is currently pending in the Senate Finance Committee for consideration of tax-related provisions before being sent to the full Senate.
The Express Carrier legislation will work to close the loophole that allows FedEx an unfair cost advantage in the package delivery industry and protect the rights of employees to form a union. No company should be able to hide behind a special deal just to prevent its workers from forming a union. In the interest of fairness in the package delivery industry and protecting the rights of workers to organize, please write your Senators and ask that they support the Express Carrier legislation and make sure it appears in the final version of the FAA Reauthorization bill.
