The Senate Finance Committee will soon vote to approve their version of a health insurance reform bill. After this vote, the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee are scheduled to meet to merge their versions of health insurance reform bills into one bill to bring to the floor for a Senate vote. As deliberations take place, Health Care for America NOW! (HCAN) is sponsoring two national call-in days - today, October 6th, and tomorrow, October 7th. The IBT has been working with the HCAN coalition group over the last several months, and throughout the health care debate. It is essential that we weigh in now, as meetings to determine final aspects of a bill take place, to express to our Senators the importance of a health insurance reform bill that does not include taxation of benefits.
